Tendaba Camp

Multiple day trips

From the Senegambia (tourist) area it is about a six hour drive per jeep to Tendaba Camp. The journey will take you past small villages with African huts, ricefields on which the woman are working and through breathtaking nature. On the way you’ll definitely will get sore arms from waiving to the locals but you’ll soon forget this little inconvenience when looking at the smiles generated by the locals.

Even if you’re not a very experienced traveller this safari is very much doable.

The accommodation at the Camp are simple round huts (supplied with mosquito-net and shower), in the so called African rondavel- style, and they are completely made out of natural materials from the bush.

You’ll also find a swimming-pool and a well stocked bar where you can cool off after your dusty journey. There is a generator present, so there is electricity but this is shut after midnight so be sure to take a flashlight with you.

From Tendaba several trips can be made: with a pirogue (canoe) through the river delta, nature excursions per jeep and expeditions into the bush.

Bushpig (warthog) is served for dinner in the roofed restaurant but if you’d rather eat something else the menu offers you ample opportunity.

At Tendaba you’ ll also find an inner garden in which some crocodiles are staring lazily at you and in and around the Camp also beautiful wooden sculptures are everywhere around.

Your stay at Tendaba Camp will certainly give you the feeling you expect from sleepover in the African Bush
