Kim Kombo

Short trips

Kim Kombo is a small plantation and distillery now managed by an English family living in The Gambia

They produce a range of quality Gambian fruit and chocolate liqueurs using home grown fruits and fresh produce from the local markets. This does make the availability of some of our liqueurs seasonal.

Looking for something a bit different? Come and enjoy a relaxing time in a natural and tranquil environment.

Visit Kim Kombo plantation and distillery for a free short tour and free tasting of our home made liqueurs.

The plantation consists mainly of cashew trees but we also grow three different types of bananas, papaya and limes. Then there are the mango, orange, pineapple, pomegranite and star fruit trees and plants all growing with various rates of success. However the climate does not seem to be right for the gooseberry plants we tried to grow.

The cashew season is from around March to July. It is a most peculiar fruit growing like an apple but with one cashew nut hanging on the bottom of the fruit. If you've never seen a fruit and you are in The Gambia out of the growing season, just ask to see Eric our lively cashew fruit in a jar!

The plantation is located in the heart of the Kombo region of the Gambia where the abundant trees and plants, along with the tranquil environment, have made it a haven for a large variety of birds and other wildlife.

Visitors are welcome to Kim Kimbo for a free short tour and free tasting between the hours of 3pm and 6pm Monday to Saturday.
